Three decades of tax assessment litigation throughout New York State
Dan Vincelette has represented over 50 municipalities, school districts and corporations in courts throughout New York State. He is the attorney of record in reported court decisions involving the valuation of commercial, industrial and utility properties including hotels, condominiums, factories, mines, senior housing facilities, nursing homes, apartment buildings, shopping malls, office buildings, golf courses, gas pipelines and power generating plants, as well as exemption issues involving not-for-profit corporations and churches.
Dan also represents municipalities in eminent domain and in rem tax foreclosure proceedings.
He has served as a Deputy Corporation Counsel in the City of Troy since 2005, handling the City’s assessment and in rem tax foreclosure litigation.
He is an instructor for Small Claims Assessment Review hearing officers’ required training sponsored by the New York Judicial Training Institute.
Dan is a graduate of Fordham University and Albany Law School. He is the former Sports Editor of the Greenwich Time newspaper in Connecticut.
